Amy Poehler's Graduation Speech

I don't totally understand why Amy Poehler would speak at Harvard when she went to Boston College (Maybe she owed a Parks and Rec writer/exec a favor? Or maybe they gave her favorite charity a ton of money?), but she gives a great speech. Still inspiring even after you've already graduated!

It's true. You can't do it alone. Especially when you need people to laugh at your jokes to know you're doing them right.

"50/50" First Trailer

Here's the trailer for the new cancer dramedy - "50/50" starring (the always incredible) Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan (who I've just been watching in "Freaks and Geeks" - he's such a jerk in that show and so nice in his later movies! Very interesting). It's based on the true story of a twenty-six year-old TV producer (just working his way up in the industry, and the guy that wrote the screenplay) who's diagnosed with a very scary kind of cancer and must try and live through it. Pretty intense stuff.

I'm really excited/jealous of this movie, because it's the movie of my life, too - except replace cancer with kidney disease, of course - and I wanted to write it because there aren't any other kinds of movies like it out there. Then again, because there aren't many like it, if this does well then it opens the doors for movies like the one of my life to be made - thus the excitement/jealousy.

Anyway, it looks pretty good, right?

Take a look at the first official image from Pixar's upcoming female-protagonisted film. You can see the full-size image, along with previously released concept art over at /Film.

It looks pretty awesome to me - a lot like the concept art. Her face is pretty Pixar-ized, but I'm sure it'll look better once you see her "come to life" as it were in the teaser trailer. I'm definitely looking forward to that - we should see it online shortly after "Cars 2" premieres in June.

Seriously! Go See "Bridesmaids"!

I just saw it on Friday and it was so funny and smart and I had about ten moments where I went "Woah, that happens to me all the time and I've never seen it portrayed in a movie before!"

I'm seeing "Bridesmaids" tonight at 10pm and anyone and everyone who's a person 17 or older should go see this movie! If we all go see it, then maybe the big wigs in the world will buy my ridiculous lady-driven comedies!
