Great news today!
The New York City Council passed (over Bloomberg's veto - surprise, surprise) a law requiring any company in New York with 15 or more employees to pay for up to five days of sick leave. It also requires any company with less than 15 employees to allow their workers to take five days of unpaid sick leave (instead of firing them). That's awesome. Apparently, similar laws are on the books in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Connecticut. Hey, those are all great places to live, too!
