Double the Efficiency, Double the Fun!

A new type of solar panel developed by Swiss researchers and IBM is 30% efficient in terms of how much energy is transferred to electricity (vs heat), but it uses 35% of the remaining energy to desalinate water instead of leaving it as wasted heat.
