Was Jurassic Park the Peak of Badass VFX?

Jurassic Park largely stands the test of time due to its incredible use of puppetry and animatronics as opposed to the then-fledgling CGI. Those VFX were largely coordinated and created by Stan Winston and his team. The school he founded, the Stan Winston School of Character Arts, has recently released rehearsal footage of those amazing creations. Take a look!

Take a look at this hopping and feeding tests of its compsognathus puppets:


Notice how the puppeteers adapt over each take? Not to mention the blinking eyes and moving tiny arms. That's art right there!
