In which case, I would come up with the sketch in my head first, then beat my elders with the sculpture, duck in the woods for a while with the figure in tow, recarve the figure to my own choosing using woodsie materials, and then bring it into a nearby hamlet as a peace offering. Yes, that's precisely what I would have done.
